There are many good art museums in Paris. We visited the Louvre, d'Orsay (Impression Modern Arts), Pompidou (Modern and Contemporary Arts), and Musee de l'Orangerie (huge canvases of Monet's waterlilies). I'd highly recommend these museums esp. if you're into Modern Arts. Buy the Museum Pass. It's definitely worth it, not to mention you can use the priority line at the Louvre.
Other interesting sites include Tour Eiffel, Sainte Chapelle, the Conciergerie, Notre Dame, Arc du Triomphe and Versailles. Aside from Tour Eiffel, Museum Pass covers the tickets for the other sites. Definitely climb the towers of Notre Dame to see the gargoyles. Don't let the 422 steps scare you. Same thing with Arc Du Triomphe. It's less of a climb but you get to see how 12 streets all run into the Arc.
Some tips for visiting Paris:
1. Don't buy the transport pass unless you plan to ride the Metro/bus for more than 5 rides each day. Buy 10 T+ tickets each time and save 20%. (1 T+ ticket is valid for 1 ride and it's 1.70. 10 tickets is only 13.7.)
2. Buy the museum pass. They have it for 2, 4 and 6 days.
3. Parisans aren't very organized. Maybe that's also true with most French.
Other interesting sites:
Sacre-Coeur, Musée Marmottan Monet, The Giverny Garden
