Luxembourg, Frankfurt, Bonn and Essen trip

Luxembourg city is a quite interesting city. There isn't much of the old fortress left to see, except for the casemate. The valley and gorges around the central city are beautiful. People here mostly speak French. They speak ok English. Official languages in Luxembourg are Luxembourgish, French and German. There are quite some foreign workers in the city (prob. for the higher pay).

Frankfurt A.M. is full of surprises. Its mood and atmosphere are quite different from those of the Northern Germany cities. The mood is light and joyous. The square in front of the rathaus (cityhall) affirms that with the fairy-tale like colored houses. The Frankfurt card offers free public transport travels and 50% discount on most major museums. A group card for up to 5 has only the price for 2.1. For one person it breaks even when you visit just one museum plus a round trip tram/subway/bus rides. I would highly recommend the Stadel Museum. The Liebieghaus houses quite some impressive statues, some are so real that they gave me goosebumps.

Bonn was the capital of West Germany and Beethoven's hometown. The history museum is very informative and FREE! The free audioguide gives you a very thorough picture of the situation between the east and the west after  WWII. Beethoven's house was where he was born. There are manuscripts, photos, instruments, etc on display. Try to plan your visit so you can enjoy the mini concert performance too.

Essen
This year at the International Spieltage we test played many games: Green Deal, Dino Race, Norderwind, 7 Steps, Castles, Imperial Settler, Neptune, 5 Tribes, Evolution, and Subdivision. Out of these I would highly recommend Evolution and 5 Tribes. We bought Evolution, Dino Race, Heckmeck, Panthion, Camel Up and Trias. Trias was for only 5 euro, and turned out it was a very good game. Very playable even with just 2 people. 5 Tribes is a worker displacement game, as opposed to the common worker placement mechanism. It's quite interesting actually. Camel Up is a fun bidding game. Green Deal, Castles and Subdivision were quite unsatisfactory. Castles and Subdivision don't have much player interaction.
